Emotions and Behavior

In Baker-Gordon syndrome, difficulties managing emotions and behaviour oftentimes progresses into self-injurious behaviours, specifically, finger-chewing, hand-biting and head-butting. In our 2022 article, these self-injurious behaviours were present in 13 out of 22 people with Baker-Gordon syndrome.

If you have concerns about your child engaging in self-injurious behaviour, your family doctor might be able to refer you to a psychiatrist, psychologist or paediatrics specialist.
